Overture's network model is composed of four main entities:

SitesSectorsRadiosConnections

A network is composed of one or more Sites. Each Site contains a number of Sector and Radio entities, linked by Connection entities. Each entity has various properties that are used to configure them for use in analyses and visualizations.

You can set up a Sector entity to link to one or more Radio entities by configuring Connection entities for each Sector/Radio pair. You can also configure a Radio to link to one or more Sectors entities in a similar fashion. This flexibility allows Overture to model antenna diversity, multi-system antennas, repeaters and related scenarios. However, the simplest setup is for every Radio to be linked to a single Sector with a single Connection.

In the majority of cases, Overture will setup the network with the required Sector, Radio and Connection elements automatically when you import your data.

Extending the Network Model

Overture's network model can be extended to include additional features using Flag.

This system is used to encapsulate technology specific features such as cell identities, or operational information such as on-air schedule dates.
