Overture has a tabular view that can be used to interact and work with network entities and statistical results. You can use tables to sort, group and select data; tables of network entities also support deletion of items from the underlying collection. You can also export any tabular view to a variety of formats, including Excel worksheets.

Sorting

To sort a table by a column, click on the column header. In the screen shot below, the site table has been sorted by the "Structure Height Above Ground" column:

Button Bar - Selected Site, Sector and Radios

Clicking on the column header again will reverse the sort; clicking on it a third time will return the table to its original ordering.

Grouping

You can group the entries in a table by one or more columns by clicking on the column header and dragging it into the grouping area at the top of the table. In the screen shot below, the site table has been group by the State and City flag values:

Button Bar - Selected Site, Sector and Radios

You can expand or contract a group by clicking on the "+" and "-" buttons. You can also sort a grouping by clicking on the element in the grouping area; in the screen shot above, the "City" grouping has been sorted.

If you are grouping by two or more columns, you can change the grouping hierarchy by dragging the elements in the grouping area.

You can remove a grouping by dragging the element from the grouping area back into the table.

Exporting from Tables

You can export data from a table by right-clicking on it to bring up the context menu:

Delete Sites from Site Table

You can export to HTML, PDF and Excel. Note that the export to Excel option requires that you have Excel 2003 or later installed.

You can copy any selected rows in the table to the clipboard by selecting the Copy Selected Rows option from the context menu, or by pressing Control-C.

Statistical Results

A table is produced whenever a Statistic is calculated:

Network Entities

All Site, Sector, Radio and Connection entities can be viewed in a table in Overture. You can open the tabular view from the menu (e.g., the site table can be opened from the Network > Sites > Open Table menu option), or by clicking on the relevant icon in the Button Bar:

Button Bar - Open Site, Sector and Radio Tables

To open the Site table, click on the Open Site Table Button icon. To open the Sector table, click on the Open Sector Table Button icon. To open the Site table, click on the Open Radio Table Button icon.

Tables of network entities also support selection and grouping, as outlined below:

Selection

You can also use the table to make selections. Single elements can be selected by clicking on the corresponding row in the table. Single elements can be added or removed from the selection by holding down the Control key while clicking. You can select a range of items by clicking on the first item in the range with the mouse, and then holding down Shift while clicking on the last item in the range.

If you want to select the entire table, you can either use the Select All option from the context menu, or you can press Control-A.

If your table is grouped, you can select all elements in a particular group by clicking on the row representing the group in the table.

Deletion

You can delete the current selection from your project by pressing the Delete key while the table is in focus, or by selecting the Delete Selected Rows option from the table's context menu. You will then be presented with a confirmation dialog:

Delete Sites from Site Table

When you delete a site, all radios, sectors, connections and constraints attached to the site are also deleted.
