This window is used to display information from the various analyses and geographical
data sources present in your project. The values displayed track the mouse cursor
while it moves over the map.
Entries in grey indicate that the underlying data source must be refreshed before
the data can be shown. You can refresh an entry by clicking the
icon or by double-clicking the entry. You can access the properties of the data
source by clicking on the
icon.
An entry in the data browser is made for every
Geo Data
provider in your project, and the entries update whenever you add or remove a geo
data source. Entries are grouped by the type of the data they represent. You can
collapse a group by clicking on the
icon; clicking on the
icon will expand it again.
Entries with a
are nested and can be expanded to view more detail. A nested data source has several
values at a given point. As an example, polygon data that represents postcode boundaries
might have several attributes attached to each polygon; the expanded view would
show you the value of each attribute for the polygon under the mouse cursor.
In the screen shot above, the Signal Strength entry has been expanded to show the
signal strength of each layer at the current mouse location. Also note that in this
case the value displayed at the top level is the signal strength of the best server;
in general the value shown at the top-level of an entry depends on the data source.
To expand a nested data source, click on the
icon. Expanded entries can be collapsed by clicking on the
icon.
