Overture supports a wide variety of raster file formats that allow you to import and use clutter (morphology) data for RF planning purposes.

The quickest way to load and visualize a clutter file is by using the clutter sub-section of the Start Page. To get to this, select the Environment section:

The Start Page

Then select the Clutter section:

The Environment sub-page

This will then display the Clutter sub page:

Add a new clutter provider by clicking the Add button. This displays a list of the possible clutter provider types:

The Clutter Provider Types

Overture treats clutter as a source of Categorical geo-data. If we assume that we have a raster file containing our clutter data, we would need to select the Categories from File entry to use it. You will then be shown the properties of the new provider:

Clutter From File Properties

Set the Filename property to the data file containing your clutter data. If the Status property is "Valid" after you have selected your file then your clutter data is ready to be used in Overture. You can now press the Back button to return to the Clutter sub-page.

Now you have loaded your clutter data, you might want to browse it using the Data Browser or you might want to adjust the colors used to indicate the different clutter types using the properties of the associated Map Layer.

Remarks

Clutter data can be used in Overture to support a variety of RF planning tasks such as statistic categorization or RF prediction modeling.

Overture maintains a separation between sources of geo-data (in this case the clutter data) and their visualization on the map. This allows you to add multiple map views for a single data source.
