This tutorial shows you how to export your site database to Excel. Note that if you wish to export your site data to Excel, you should first ensure that Excel 2003 or later is installed on the same computer as Overture. You will then need to locate the Exporters sub-page, which can be found by navigating the Start Page through to the Network and Export sub pages:

The Exporters Page

You can now select an "Excel Network Data Exporter" from the list, or you can add a new one by clicking the Add button. Clicking the Add button will display a page listing the possible data exporter types:

Add a site data exporter

Clicking on the Excel Network Data Exporter button will add a new exporter component to your project. You will then see the properties of the newly added exporter:

Set the Filename property to the location you wish to export to. Note that you can also export to Excel 2007, CSV or XML by changing the file extension appropriately.

Return to the Exporters page by clicking Back, then start the export by clicking the Export button. This will write out a spreadsheet with separate worksheet for Sites, Sectors, Radios and Connections:

Overture can also import data from Excel, and an importer for the export format shown above is added to all new projects by default. You can find out more about Overture's support for importing site data from Excel here.
