The Parameter Optimization module installs several new pages in the Start Page. You can reach the RF Planning page by first clicking on Optimization:

Start Page > Optimization

Then click on Parameter Optimization:

Start Page > Optimization > Parameter Optimization

Finally, click on RF Planning:

Start Page > Optimization > Parameter Optimization > RF Planning

The RF Planning page has two main sections, detailed below.

Sector Optimizer

Start Page > Optimization > Parameter Optimization > RF Planning

This section allows you to start and stop the RF Planning process. You can use the Start and Stop buttons to control the operation of the optimizer, and you can edit the parameters that will be explored by clicking the Edit Optimizable Parameters button. If you want to see the full set of properties for the RF Planning component, click on the Show Properties button (The Properties Button). More details on the RF Planning component can be found here.

Relative Ranges

This section helps you assign Parameter Ranges for sector azimuths and heights. It is common to specify these using relative values about the current setting. For example, you can use this section to set the range of possible azimuth values to +/- 15 degrees about the current value.

You can set relative ranges for the Azimuth property using the section below:

Start Page > Optimization > Parameter Optimization > RF Planning > Azimuth Ranges

Enter the minimum value of the relative range in the Relative Minimum field, and the maximum value in the Relative Maximum field. The Step field controls the jumps that will be taken as the ranges are set.

As an example, entering a minimum of -30°, a maximum of +30° and a step value of 10° will cause the Azimuth Range property of a sector with a current azimuth of 90° to be set to 60°, 70°, 80°, 90°, 100°, 110°, 120°.

The radio buttons at the bottom of the section let you control which sectors will be updated, and whether the existing ranges should be added to or replaced. Clicking the Set Relative Azimuth Ranges button commits the changes.

The section for the Height Above Ground property is very similar:

Start Page > Optimization > Parameter Optimization > RF Planning > Height Ranges

Clicking the Set Relative Height Ranges button will update the Height Above Ground Range of the chosen sectors.
