A Site Template is used whenever a site is created in Overture. The site
template specifies the default values of the site's properties, as well as the values
of all sectors and radios attached to the newly-created site.
You can access the list of site templates from the menu option. This launches the site template
collection editor:
This editor allows you to add, remove and edit the site templates in your project.
In the screen shot above, the "Tri-Sectored" template has been selected, and you
can see its properties on the right-hand-side. The various range properties are
used when setting up new sectors and radios; these specify the valid ranges for
azimuths, down-tilts, channels and so forth.
The site template also lets you specify the number of sectors to apply to a new
site. In the example above, this has been set to three as it is a template for a
tri-sectored site.
You can also set up the default
Constraints
that will be applied to each new site.
Site templates are used whenever a new site is added to an Overture project. For
example, when you
import site data
into Overture you need to specify a site template. Site templates are also used
when you manually add a site to a project by right-clicking on the map; the Default
Template is used to do this. You can change the default template from the
Network > Sites > Properties... menu option.
