A Vector data source in Overture is a sequence of items where each item consists of a set of points arranged in a line, and a collection of attribute values. An example vector data source would be a road network, where each item represents the path of an individual road. The attributes of this data set might include the name of the road, the road's classification, or the number of cars per month.

Vector data sources can be used to help with a variety of RF planning tasks. You can map any vector data source by adding a vector map. You can also convert vector data sources to other geo data types by using various geo data transformers.

You can access the collection of vector data providers in your project from the Mapping > Geo Data > Vectors menu option:

Add A New Vector Geo Data Component

The easiest way to add a new geo data component is to add a map and create a new component to point it at.

From the Start Page, select Maps and then add a new map using the Add button

Select Vector Map then the Data Source property. Click the Edit List... button to edit the list of all geo data providers of this type.

Then choose the required component type from the list of options in the Add drop-down.
